Doctors Shaw and Sharon Yount - Missionaries to Honduras
The Men’s Prayer Breakfast group has been coordinating support for our missionaries, Doctors Shaw and Sharon Yount, since 1992. Shaw grew up at Saint Paul’s and his parents are parishioners in our church. Shaw and Sharon have two young daughters, Jenna and Michaila.
Doctors Shaw and Sharon Yount moved to Balfate, Honduras on the northern coast in early 2002. The Younts work at the Hospital Loma de Luz where they continue their work of spreading the loving message of Christ. Doctors Shaw and Sharon have said that a hospital is an important place to proclaim the Gospel message. People with serious illnesses, they believe, may be particularly open to hearing what they have to say.
Saint Paul’s plays a primary role in the Yount’s medical ministry. Our parishioners have been most generous throughout the last sixteen years and have contributed in various ways. Many members participate in the Men and Missions annual change jar in-gatherings. We thank Gallins Vending Company for counting the change we receive in this project.
Funding for the Yount's is also received from Saint Paul’s ECW Bazaar and St. Paul’s Outreach Committee. The Winston-Salem Foundation’s Mission Endowment Fund, the Children’s Sunday offering, individuals, and memorial also contribute to the Yount’s support. All contributions to the Yount Mission Fund are tax-deductible and are individually documented on the church statement.
We appreciate your continued support for this valuable mission.
