Childcare for Worship

We welcome families with young children at St. Paul's! Childcare is available during worship year round, based upon two schedules.  Our regular childcare schedule commences after Labor Day in the fall, and continues through winter and spring.  During this time, the parish holds three Sunday services with a Sunday School hour between the 9:00 a.m. and 11:15 services.  Our summer schedule begins on Memorial Day, when the parish typically holds only two Sunday services with no Sunday School hour in between.  Each Sunday's bulletin has information and childcare locations in the inside cover. 

Regular Schedule Childcare - Fall, Winter, and Spring

Preschool Sunday School & Children's Chapel During the 9:00 a.m. Sunday Service
Preschool Sunday School and Children's Chapel open at 8:45 a.m. on Sunday mornings to provide care and Christian formation for young children during the 9:00 a.m. service and the Sunday School hour following. 

To dropoff Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten children at Children's Chapel, from the church entrance (the Narthex) take the covered walkway to the other building, and the Chapel is just inside the entrance.  These children are picked up at their classrooms.*

All classrooms for young children are located in the Christian Education/Preschool wing.  From the church lobby (the Narthex), take the covered walkway to the other building, go down the hall, turn left at the library and take the stairs or elevator to your child's classroom.*

First Floor:
  Room 112:  Infants and Toddlers (Through 24 Months)
  Room 114:  Two and Three Year Olds
Second Floor:
  Room 232:  Pre-Kindergarten Class (Dropoff at Children's Chapel)
  Room 236:  Kindergarten Class (Dropoff at Children's Chapel)

*Note:  If you are coming into the West Entrance, rooms 112 and 114 are to your left down the hall.  There is an elevator in the lobby to take you to the second floor preschool area or to the third floor Children's Chapel.  To reach either of these locations, exit the elevator, continue to the end of the hall, and turn right.

Nursery for the 11:15 a.m. Sunday Service
Childcare for infants, toddlers, twos and threes is provided from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in room 112 in the preschool area.  From the church entrance (the Narthex), take the covered walkway to the other building, go down the hall, turn left at the library, and take the stairs or elevator to the first floor.  Turn left off of the elevator, turn left again into the Preschool hallway.

From the West Entrance, go past the elevator and turn left into the Preschool hallway.

Summer Sunday Childcare - Memorial Day Through Labor Day Weekends

Preschool Childcare for 10:00 a.m. Sunday Service
Preschool Sunday School opens at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday mornings to provide care and Christian formation for young children during the 10:00 a.m. service.  All classrooms are located in the Christian Education/Preschool wing.  From the church lobby (the Narthex), take the covered walkway to the other building, and take the stairs or elevator to your child's classroom.

Room 112:  Infants, Toddlers and Twos
Room 232:  Threes and Fours (Pre-K) Classes

There is no Children's Chapel during the summer.  Kindergarten children (rising first graders) join their parents in church during the summer months.  All children are promoted to their next class when Sunday School resumes in the fall.

Security Procedures for Young Children
We ask that parents of infants, toddlers, twos and threes follow a security check-in/check-out procedure.  Simple instructions are provided at your child's classroom.  Pagers are provided for parents of infants and toddlers so they can be easily located if needed.

Special Services and Events
Look for announcements about childcare provided for special services and events at St. Paul's.  Information about childcare is generally published in the inside cover of the service bulletins.
