This program is for seventh grade boys and girls and is intended as an opportunity to increase their participation in the Sunday morning service. They serve at the 9:00 a.m. service during the school year (September - May). Duties include handing out the bulletins before the service and collecting the offering during the service. There is no special training required or time commitment required beyond the actual Sunday morning service. Youth ushers work in teams and serve either every other month or once every three months depending on the number of participants. A schedule is prepared at the start of the school year and is flexible to allow for trading days if personnel schedule conflicts arise.

Each week at St. Paul’s, regular Sunday worship services begin at the appointed times and flow with the rhythm of a well-directed Broadway production. Not counting the choirs, more than fifty volunteers are involved in Sunday worship services. Among the most visible of those who serve are the ushers. At present, there are more than one hundred and ten men and women who serve in the usher rotation schedule. This may seem like more than enough to provide coverage at all services; however, personal schedule conflicts, illness, business conflicts, and relocation to other cities create the need for an ongoing recruiting effort. Men and women willing to serve the parish as ushers should contact the parish Volunteer Coordinator in the church office or the head usher. As always, the congregation could help the ushers by taking bulletins to the back of the church after services and replacing prayer books and hymnals in the racks.

Especially needed are volunteers, both male and female, to serve as ushers at the 7:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. services.
