For more that 30 years, St. Paul's has sponsored a Summer Enrichment Program (SEP) for children in first through ninth grades who live in the Thurmond Street neighborhood. The program provides a positive setting in which the children can develop self-esteem, establish healthy living skills and learn to appreciate God's gifts. The five-week program runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays in June and July. A staff of three adults and six college-aid youth counselors supervise the activities for approximately 70 children who attend daily. Many of the children have grown up in this program, and a few have returned to be counselors or volunteers. Members of the parish take part by leading activities such as puppet making, flower arranging, cooking, hat making, story telling, singing, dancing, sewing and playing games.

| Other parishioners have welcomed the children at their homes, farms or places of business. Many members work together to prepare lunches for the children each day of the program. This ia a very fun and rewarding experience for all involved. We welcome your help! |
