Dear St. Paul’s family,

It is my great privilege to serve as Associate Rector for Pastoral Care. For the last year or so the other clergy and I have been working with the vestry to “put our arms around” those ministries that would be considered “pastoral care,” and I have tried to use those efforts to make our website more user friendly for you. To the left you will see links to various ministries, and I encourage you to check them out.

My hope for St. Paul’s is that the Winston-Salem community would continue to recognize us as a people who truly love one another. After all, Jesus said, “By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:35). Of course, the kind of love Jesus is talking about is sacrificial action (which is why he had to command it!), and it only flows naturally out of those who have encountered the unconditional love of Jesus Christ. “We love, because Christ first loved us” (1 John 4:19).

If you would like to know more about any of these ministries, or have any feedback or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

By His Grace & for His Glory,
The Rev. Thomas P. Murray
