The Rev. David B. Hodges
Rector

The Reverend David B. Hodges became the eighteenth Rector of St. Paul’s in March of 2009. Prior to that time, he served nearly ten years as the Rector of Holy Comforter Episcopal Church in Charlotte, North Carolina. He has also served parishes in Austin, Texas and Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
David is a graduate of Samford University, The University of Alabama, and the Seminary of the Southwest. In the Diocese of North Carolina, he has served as Dean of the Charlotte Convocation of Episcopal Churches, as a member and department chair of the Diocesan Council, and as a member of the Mission Strategy Task Force.
David is a member of the Governing Board of Directors of Hospice & Palliative Care Center, as well as a member of the Rotary Club of Winston-Salem, and a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International. Formerly, David was President of the Board of Directors of Loaves and Fishes, Inc., a member of the Board of Directors of the Charlotte Youth Ballet, and a member of the School Leadership Team at Beverly Woods Elementary School and Carmel Middle School. He served on the Board of Directors and as President-Elect of the Charlotte East Rotary Club. David has coached youth sports for many years through the YMCA in Charlotte and Winston-Salem.
He and his wife Lisa, who is an attorney, have three children: Burton, Mary Catherine and Philip.
