Confirmation at St. Paul's
Youth Confirmation Class: Ninth Through Twelfth Grades
St. Paul's has a long and wonderful tradition of strong Confirmation programs for youth! Our Confirmation class is called CnC, which stands for "Confirm, Not Conform." CnC is an engaging Episcopal curriculum that takes an innovative approach to helping young people build their own spiritual lives and take responsibility for their faith and its power.
The course is taught on Sunday mornings by a team of lay leaders, and clergy and St. Paul's staff are present every Sunday to participate, help with teaching, and fellowship with students. In addition, each student partners with an adult mentor, who meets with them regularly for prayer and conversation, and supports them in their faith journey. We also ask every student to participate in an event offered by the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina, so they can experience the unity and communion with other churches that is a hallmark of Episcopal life. Of course, we want all of our students to continue to attend worship regularly.
Many of our youth will participate in the Confirmation class in ninth grade. We encourage youth to decide when they are ready to participate in CnC, and are happy to include all senior high students in the class. Students who opt not to participate in Confirmation class are welcomed in our Senior High Sunday School class.
