Sunday Church School Classes for Children

Nursery through Three Year Olds - Childcare is available during the 9:00 a.m. service through the Sunday School hour.  Parents who make use of this childcare are asked to take part in supervising these children on a rotating basis.  A nursery is also available during the 11:15 a.m. service.

Preschool through Kindergarten - During the 9:00 a.m. service, the 4 year olds through Kindergarten age start their mornings off with Children's Chapel.  During the Sunday School hour, this age group enjoys Bible stories, crafts, snacks and other activities with a team of teachers who rotate through the Spring semester.  On the third Sunday of each month, the Kindergarten class comes up to "big church" for communion.  The Preschool class comes for communion on the fourth Sunday of the month.  Parents are invited to join their children at the back of the church if they would like to take communion with them.

First Grade through 4th Grade - Sunday School classes begin at 10:10 a.m.  This age group uses a rotating curriculum.  Each rotation is six weeks long and includes music, crafts, games, food, theater and drama.  Class locations are on the second floor and in the church building; children go to a different class each week.  Check your Sunday bulletin for locations.

5th and 6th Grade - Sunday School class meets in room 305/306 for "Bible Study Studio."  This class benefits from the leadership of visiting "artists in residence" who help the children respond to scripture.

Church School Classes for Youth

Youth Confirmation - Youth Confirmation class is for 9th grade and older high schoolers who are interested in Confirmation.  This class meets from 10:10 until 11:10 a.m. each Sunday.

Junior & Senior High Classes - Both Junior High (7th & 8th grades) and Senior High (10th - 12th grades) use curriculum which includes popular movie clips, music, hands-on activities and some outreach projects to alllow students to see for themselves that what we learn from the Bible is real, relevant and applicable to our lives today.  Senior High classes will be using NOOMA videos as discussion starters during some of their classes.

Other Education Opportunities

Other Christian Education programs are offered periodically, including seasonal celebrations, third grade Bible presentations and classes, a fifth grade faith and sexuality retreat, small group Bible studies, adult Confirmation classes, Eucharist training for young children, special Lenten evening and midday studies, and a week-long summer Vacation Bible School.
