St. Paul's Choirs Needs You!

Choir

The St. Paul's Choirs will resume their regular school-year schedule in September and we always need and want new members. The music ministry at St. Paul's is a wonderful opportunity for service, musical education and spiritual enrichment for all ages based in the Anglican Choral Tradition. Its primary purpose is to enrich the worship of God at St. Paul's. It also serves an important role in Christian Formation to those involved and Outreach to the greater Winston-Salem community. There is a place for everyone from first grade though adult to be a part of this outstanding ministry. If you would like to know more about the music program, our choirs, and how you and your family can get involved, please join us Sunday, August 28 in Colhoun A following the 10:00 a.m. service. It will be our first organizational meeting before rehearsals start August 30 and 31 for Choristers and Chorale (3rd - 12th grades) and September 1 for St. Paul's Choir (adults). Contact John Cummins at 723-4391, ext. 259  or Don Grice at 723-4391, ext. 261 for additional information

The St. Paul's Choir

AdultChoir2010This choir of up to fifty adult voices sings usually at the 11:15 a.m. services and in concerts from time to time. The repertoire is ambitious, and a minimum weekly commitment of approximately two hours of rehearsals (plus Sunday mornings) is asked. As with all of our choirs, an audition is not required, just a strong desire to sing and a commitment to being the very best choir we can be. We have room for you!

The St. Paul's Choristers, Chorale, and Novices

Choristers_150x150The St. Paul’s Choir School gives all ages an outstanding musical education through regular study and performance.  Each week members have opportunities for meeting challenges in a loving, team-oriented environment, and the privilege and responsibility of leading public worship. Through a structured incentives program modeled on the Royal School of Church Music’s Voice for Life training scheme, our singers learn to appreciate the value of achieving short and long range goals individually and collectively. Singers are exposed to the greatest works of sacred music. Concerts, choir festivals, and travel are a regular part of the program as well.

The St. Paul's Summer Choir (2011)

All are welcome to participate in the Summer Choir, which will sing at the 10:00 a.m. Sunday services through July 31. This is an intergenerational opportunity for 3rd graders through adults. We will rehearse Wednesday, July 6, 2011 from 7:15 p.m.-8:30 p.m. to prepare for the July repertoire. We will then gather at 9:00 a.m. for a brief rehearsal prior to the service each Sunday. Contact John Cummins at 723-4391, ext. 259 or Don Grice at 723-4391, ext. 261 for further information.
