Summer Choir

All are welcome and encouraged to participate in the Summer Choir which sings at the 10:00AM service Sundays May 24 – July 26, 2009.   This is an intergenerational choir opportunity for 3rd grade through adult.   We will rehearse from 7:00-8:00PM Thursday evenings beginning May 21.   We will then gather at 9:15AM for a brief rehearsal prior to the service each Sunday.

Please contact John Cummins or Don Grice in the music office for further information or questions.

The heritage of music in the Anglican tradition is one of the greatest gifts to the missionary and spiritual life of the Christian faith. For centuries, choirs of children and adults have led worship through the Anglican Communion, and so it is today. At St. Paul’s Church, choirs and instrumentalists provide musical leadership for hundreds of services and events each year. Their service is a vital part of the worship and spiritual life of the parish and a significant outreach to the greater community.

The St. Paul’s Choir School
gives all ages an outstanding musical education through regular study and performance.  Each week members have opportunities for meeting challenges in a loving, team-oriented environment, and the privilege and responsibility of leading public worship. Through a structured incentives program modeled on the Royal School of Church Music’s Voice for Life training scheme, our singers learn to appreciate the value of achieving short and long range goals individually and collectively. Singers are exposed to the greatest works of sacred music. Concerts, choir festivals, and travel are a regular part of the program as well.

Liturgy and Music are among our strongest tools for evangelism, for spiritual enrichment, and for sustaining the faith. Out heritage is a treasure for us to share with the world. St. Paul’s, through its resources of singers and players, seeks to serve not only our parish, but our community and the church at large.

All are welcome and no previous musical experience is required.   The commitment is significant and the rewards are great.

Support for the Music Ministry

The music ministry at St. Paul’s welcomes instrumentalists who can participate in various services and activities throughout the year. In addition, volunteers are always needed to help with publicity, choir vestment upkeep, the music library, and trip coordination.
