The Rev. Dr. Chantal B. McKinney, Associate Rector for Mission and Parish Life

The Rev. Dr. Chantal B. McKinney

The Rev. Dr. Chantal B. McKinney is our Associate Rector for Mission and Parish Life. A focus on the mission of the church begins with intentional hospitality and youth. As such, Chantal’s areas of responsibility include welcoming our visitors and newcomers, and ensuring that all who are new to the church are incorporated into our community, our ministries, and our fellowship opportunities. She also works with our Director of Youth Christian Formation and Youth Minister as part of Mission.  Parish Life includes opportunities for community building and  fellowship for the entire parish, and specifically includes expanding our ministry to and with Young Adults.

Chantal has been with St. Paul's since  2008. Chantal is from High Point and is a “cradle Episcopalian”, attending St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in her youth. Chantal went to seminary after college and received her Master in Divinity degree from Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, VA in 2002. She graduated with a Doctorate of Ministry in Preaching from Chicago Theological Seminary in 2009.

Chantal is active in our Diocese, currently serving as Dean of the Winston-Salem Convocation. She has served on the Companion Diocese Committee of Costa Rica and chaired our N.C. Diocesan Committee on Hispanic Ministry. In the community, she has served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Greensboro Housing Coalition and Open Door Ministries in High Point. After serving St. Francis, Greensboro and St. Mary’s, High Point, she and her family are delighted to call Winston-Salem home. Chantal is married to Bryson McKinney, who is a Financial Representative in the Wealth Management Department of Southern Community Bank. They have one precious son, Moses.
