E.Y.C. or (Episcopal Youth Community) is a branch of St. Paul’s Youth Ministry. Because of our philosophy that youth programs are defined as anything involving youth, EYC is only the beginning!
Youth 4:12 (Middle School EYC)
Our middle school EYC or Youth 4:12 is for youth in grades 6-8 and meets on Sunday’s from 4-5:30 in the youth area.
Youth 4:12 Philosophy
Middle school is all about identity. What Youth 4:12 does is creates a safe environment that let’s youth be themselves with no prejudice. We help them identify with the community within the church. Youth 4:12 is also an opportunity for middle school youth to get in the practice of actively participating in church opportunities.
What happens at Youth 4:12
Youth 4:12 is led by our EYC chaplain team made up of college students from nearby universities. We begin with various games, activities with the goal of community building. Each chaplain is assigned to teach a lesson and we end the evening in worship and prayer.
Cornerstone (Sr. High EYC)
Our Sr. High EYC or Cornerstone is for youth in grades 9-12 and meets on Thursday’s from 7:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m. in host homes.
Cornerstone Philosophy
Each year, our Sr. High youth get busier and busier. It is our hope that by participating in the practices that St. Paul’s provides in our Children’s and middle school ministry, our youth will continue their journey as followers of Christ within their church community. That being said, Cornerstone focuses more on the development of how youth see the world through the lens of who they are as Christians. Cornerstone is a much on in depth version of Youth 4:12.n Cornerstone is also lead by our EYC chaplain team made up of college students from nearby universities.
What happens at Cornerstone
Each week, Cornerstone meets at host homes. These homes are typically assigned in 2-3 week blocks to develop some consistency in environment. Host homes provides a more intimate and relaxed space where youth can feel welcome to share their beliefs and struggles with their peers and leaders.
