Stewardship Campaign 2010
“All things come of thee, O Lord, and of thine own have we given thee.”
Ann and Dudley Humphrey are co-chairs for the 2010 Stewardship Campaign. For those who do not know them, Ann is a cradle Episcopalian and Dudley is a “recovering Presbyterian.” They have been St. Paul’s members since shortly after they moved to Winston-Salem in 1961.
Dudley chaired the St. Paul’s Every Member Canvass in the mid sixties and has been a vestry member, diocesan convention delegate and a member of the Diocesan Standing Commission on Canons. Ann is a 48 year bazaar lasagna cook, and former vestry member, diocesan convention delegate, Junior and Senior Warden and, most recently, search committee member.
They are looking forward to the opportunities for focused discipleship these challenging economic times present: “Working under the leadership and guidance of the Wardens, the Vestry and Stewardship Committee, is a great privilege for us. We are confident that St. Paul’s will continue to demonstrate its corporate Christian witness to the greater service of Christ’s Church and the community it serves.”
2010 Annual Stewardship Campaign Overview
The 2010 Pledge Goal is Two Million Dollars, about 8% more than pledged for 2009. Challenging, Yes. Unrealistic, No. Achievable, with God’s help and helping hands. Essential, if St. Paul’s is to continue as a vibrant expression of the Holy Spirit working in the world through the service of the living body of Christ – that is you and that is me. It is the gift and the challenge of discipleship. It is a part of the risk taking that makes life worth living. It is something that “comes with the Christian Territory.” St. Francis -- After all, “it is by giving that we receive…”
