Summer Adult Sunday School

Summer Adult Sunday School Class
Sundays at 9:00am  • May - August 2009 • Colhoun B

Summer is the time for a break in schedules where we enjoy vacations, the weather, and children at home. Worship life is still vibrant, yet the summer schedule changes as well. The same is true for Sunday School. Although the offerings are lighter in number, we hope you will join us for two different opportunities for spiritual growth: Summer Sessions 1 and 2. These sessions are designed to be "drop-in" in nature and open to all, so come when you can!

Summer Adult Session 1 -- YanceySummer Session 1:
Prayer: Does It Make Any Difference?

May 31, June 7, 14, 21, 28, July 5

Prayer is a vital aspect of Christian discipleship, and we understand that it matters. But have you ever wondered, "Is God really listening? Can prayer change God's mind? Why do so many prayers go unanswered? Why does God not intervene more often? Does prayer really help with physical healing?" The Rev. Corey Miller and Chip Morgan will lead these sessions, which will focus on Phillip Yancey's book on prayer. Yancey approaches this topic with his characteristic honesty and authenticity, and it promises to be an opportunity to explore the questions around prayer and emerge with an even deeper connection with prayer for our lives.

Summer Adult Session 2 -- StassenSummer Session 2: The Sermon on the Mount: Jesus' Greatest Lessons
July 12, 19, 26, August 2, 9, 16, 23, 30

The Sermon on the Mount is considered by many to be the heart of Jesus' teachings and in these words shared in the Gospels there is so much to consider for Christians in the 21st century. Join the Rev. Corey Miller and Chip Morgan as we engage in Bible Study that will cover all the issues of life and explore more fully what Jesus is sharing about the Kingdom of God. The format of the class is presentation and discussion - we'd love to have your perspective!
