Augustine Project
Trains volunteer tutors who provide free tutoring to academically at-risk, low-income students in Forsyth County. Tutors receive training in the Orton-Gillingham approach, which is a systematic, structured and multi-sensory method of teaching reading. |
CHANGE
Since 2002, we have been active participants in this community-wide organization to effect change in the areas of healthcare, education, jobs and economic development, neighborhoods and housing, and local government. |
Christmas Toy Drive
Provides toys for the children of 100 inmates of the Forsyth Jail and Prison Ministry (the inmates themselves select and present the toys to their children). |
Crisis Ministry at St. Paul's Outreach Center
Collecting food, clothing and supporting people in crisis. In 2007 weprovided assistance to approximately 250 families. |

Good Friday/All Saints Day Blood Drive
Staffing blood drives or giving blood at church.

Habitat for Humanity
Working with families to build quality homes. Our parish raises the support and builds a house every two years. |
Jail & Prison Ministry
Worshiping with inmates in the county jail every two months and participates in worship and education at the prison on Cherry Street. |

Kids Café
Ministers to 30 Hispanic children; providing an evening meal and tutoring assistance three days a week.

Overflow Shelter
Staffed the Overflow Shelter for the Homeless at First BAptist Church during the winter months. |
Outreach Center
Provides temporary and long-term office space for start-up ministries (currently including Advocacy for the Poor, Bethesda Center for the Homeless, and Plan to Prosper). |
Outreach Funding Advisory Council
Accepts grant requests, conducts on-site visits, and then distributes approximately $170,000 annually to 30+ community agencies. |

Sharing a meal and worshiping with people in recovery program. |
Samaritan Inn Ministry
St. Paul's parishioners staff the homeless shelter for the first 10 days of November each year utilizing 60+ volunteers. |
Saturday Night Fellowship
Held the first Saturday of each month at a downtown church. |
Second Harvest Food Bank
Collecting and distributing food for non-profit organization. |
St. Paul's Place to Stay
Making available two apartments to be used as temporary housing for both patients and family of extended-care patients at local area hospitals. |

Stop Hunger Now
Twice a year parish-wide events packaging meals for those in developing countries. |
Summer Enrichment
Providing enrichment and fun for children in the Boston/Thurmond Street area. |
