The Altar Guild
The ministry of the Altar Guild is often described as a behind the scenes ministry. In general terms, the Altar Guild prepares all things that are necessary for the celebration of the Eucharist, or any of the other Sacraments and Offices of the Church – the flowers, the hangings, the candles, the vestments, the linens, the sacred vessels, the service books, the baptismal font, the bread and the wine.
At St. Paul’s, the work of the Altar Guild is done within the framework of four committees: Communion, Flowers, Linen, and Polishing (Brass & Silver).
